Navratan Korma

This healthy and tasty dish is sure to attract all vegetarians and food lovers. Navratan korma is very popular in any Indian restaurant and delicious as well. You can now make navratan korma at home with this simple recipe.

  • 1 cup of mixed vegetables ( carrots, beans) boiled
  • ½ cup cottage cheese cut into cubes
  • ¼ cup green peas (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 medium potato cut into cubes boiled
  • 1 large onion
  • ¼ cup cashew nut paste
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder (kashmiri)
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tbsp fresh cream
  • salt to taste
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • to be lightly crushed
  • ½ tsp whole black pepper
  • 2 cloves
  • 2 cardamom
  • 1 small piece cinnamon

  1. Make a paste of onion and half of the cashew nut and keep aside.
  2. In a wok heat the oil and add the lightly crushed spices and remaining cashew nuts.
  3. Sauté till cashew nuts are light golden brown in colour.
  4. Ass the onion paste and fry till its golden brown in colour.
  5. Add the ginger garlic paste and fry again for a minute or two.
  6. Add the turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder and salt. Fry till the spices are well cooked and the oil separates from the mixture.
  7. Add the boiled vegetables and cook for a minute or two.
  8. Add ½ cup water and let it come to a boil
  9. Add the cottage cheese and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  10. Add the cream and simmer for 3 minutes.
  11. Serve hot

Serving Instructions

Serve it hot with pulao, roti or plain rice
