Kheer is the most popular Indian dessert made for every occasion. It has a variety of variations starting from rice to cottage cheese Kheer. This recipe requires broken vermicelli which is easily available and full fat milk.
Sevaiyan Kheer Ingredients
In a wok heat the ghee till it melts.
Add the cashew nuts and fry till they are golden brown.
Add the vermicelli and fry. If yours is white vermicelli , fry till they turn light brown, and if yours is pre fried one like mine just saute till fragrant.
Add the milk and let it come to a boil
Reduce the heat and simmer till it thickens and the vermicelli are cooked.
Add the sugar and cardamom powder.
Mix well and cook till the sugar dissolves.
Serve hot or cold.
Serve it as a dessert hot or cold. Some also have it with puris
