Palak Dal Vada

Crispy and yummy South Indian snacks.

Main Ingredients Spinach, Moong Dal

Palak Dal Vada is prepared using spinach and moong dal. The moong dal is high in protein and fibre and low in fat and it has mild ,often earthy flavour. And the combination of this lentil and highly nutritious spinach, makes it balanced and healthy dish. It is very healthy for all ages, especially growing children.

  • 100 gms spinach (palak)
  • 1/2 cup-moong dal grinded
  • 1 onion grinded
  • 2 green chilli
  • salt - to taste
  • 1 cup oil
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds grinded

  1. Wash and soak dal in about 3 cups of water for four hours or longer.
  2. Add all the ingredients to the dal ie green chili, cumin seeds, onion and salt. Mix well and grind the dal .
  3. Add palak to the dal mix.
  4. Heat the oil in a frying pan on medium high heat.
  5. Fry the vada in small batches. Fry vadas until golden-brown all around as shown in the pic.

Serving Instructions

You can serve this as evening snacks
