Lau dal is a very common and easy dish.It is generally prepared in West Bengal. Its main ingredient is Bottle gourd which called lau in bengali and lauki in hindi.
Lau Dal Ingredients
Take a wok and put it on heat,add daal and fry them until golden brown,now add water and bottle gourd in it and boil them untill the daal and bottle gourd is soft.
After that take another wok add 1 tbsp ghee in it,add cumin seeds and red dry chilli in it,then add turmeric powder and salt in it and cook for 5 minutes,now add the boiled daal in it and cook another 2-3 minutes.
Now switch off the heat,lau daal is ready to serve.
Serve with hot plain rice and a little amount of ghee.
