Sweet potato and channa chaat is a Punjabi snack. It is very healthy and mouth watering snack. It is liked by everyone especially the children and teenagers. If there are extra boiled chana at home, you can easily prepare this chaat. It has balanced combination of proteins and vitamins. Sweet potato is full of potassium so it is very healthy especially for women.

  • 2 cups preboiled channa (chickpeas)
  • 1 cup cubed & boiled sweet potato (can be white or orange in colour )
  • 1 cup full of mixed veggies cut into cubes (1 boiled potato, 1 onion, 1 big piece of cucumber)
  • 1 cup of cubed melon
  • 1 green chilly (finely chopped)
  • 1 bunch of coriander leaves
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp roasted cumin powder
  • a pinch of hing (asafoetida)
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp chaat masala
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup tamarind sauce
  • 6/7 pieces walnuts (chopped)

  1. In big bowl, mix channa, sweet potato, melon, boiled potato, onion and cucumber.
  2. Add chaat masala, salt, red chilli powder, hing, roasted cumin powder and mix well.
  3. Now add tamarind sauce, lemon juice, chopped green chilly and mix well.
  4. Finally add chopped corinder leaves and walnuts.

Serving Instructions

You can serve sweet potato and channa chaat as a snacks or starter.
