This is a rajashtani recipe. It’s a simple green pea soup and tastes best with fresh green pea. It’s a good food to enjoy in chilly winters. This recipe requires very basic ingredients and tastes delicious.

Steps

  1. Puree the ½ cup green peas with the green chilli and keep aside.
  2. In a wok heat the ghee. Add the bay leaf, black cardamom and cumin seeds. sauté for a minute.
  3. In this add the chopped onion. Fry on a low flame till they are golden brown in colour.
  4. Add the ginger garlic paste and sauté for another minute.
  5. Add the tomato puree, red chilli powder, salt, coriander powder and turmeric powder.
  6. Fry till the oil separates. This will take 5 minutes.
  7. To this add the pureed green peas and green chilli mixture. Fry till all the water is drained out. This will take 10 minutes on a low flame.
  8. Add 1 ½ cups of water. Add the remaining green peas and potato. Cook on a high flame till it comes to a boil.
  9. Reduce the heat and cook covered for 5-10 minutes or till the potatoes are done and the gravy has become thick.
  10. Serve hot with a dash of lemon juice.

Serving Instructions

Serve hot with rice or Indian flat bread.
