Fried onion ka raita is a side dish prepared by fried onion and yogurt. It is very easy to make and also served as side dish, it doubles the taste of your meal. Especially in the summers, it is really refreshing.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups curd/yougurt (well-beaten)
  • 2 big onions (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 6/7 curry leaves
  • 2 green chillies (cut length wise)
  • 2 dry red chillies
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • salt to taste

Steps

  1. In a non stick pan, put the finely chopped onion saute for about 3 minutes until the water of onion gets dried.
  2. Now put 2 tbsp of oil and fry them till they become tender and dark brown in color. Take care, it does not get burn. Then add green chillies and switch of the gas. Keep it aside.
  3. Pour the curd in a bowl. Now add fried onions, green chillies & salt to taste in it and mix well.
  4. Heat 1 tbsp of oil in small pan, add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
  5. Then add red chillies and remove it from fire. Finally add curry leaves.
  6. Spread this tempering over the curd. And mix it only while serving.

Serving Instructions

Serve fried onion ka raita with stuffed parathas or pulao.
